Student Spotlight May 8 2025

All Bahrain Elementary students experience Advanced Academics Programs & Services (AAPS) critical and creative thinking lessons in the classroom each semester. Spring CCTLs are designed to foster teamwork and support Social-Emotional Wellness through engineering and design challenges that require problem-solving skills and a creative use of everyday materials.
Kindergarten students built the tallest structure possible from 5O straws and masking tape. First graders constructed a basket with a handle from a single sheet of paper, a paper plate, and masking tape that could hold 30 Skittles. Second graders built the tallest structure possible from 20 paper plates-with no tape! Third graders constructed a hanging device to hold a tennis ball as far from the top of a door jamb as possible. Fourth graders faced the Perpetual Motion challenge: building a structure to keep a marble in motion for as long as possible. Fifth graders confronted High Sphere, where they built a structure as tall as
possible to hold one of three spheres. Our students did such a great job collaborating and tackling these difficult challenges!
Thanks, also, to all the parent volunteers!
